03/22/2004: "Another year closer to death."
I've recently turned 28. I've a steady job, a reasonable disposable income, am in comparatively good health and seem to have become intellectually and emotionally disengaged from life.
I'm not unhappy, depressed nor suicidal. I'm just bored. I need to find something that makes me want to get up in the morning to study, interact with or be a part of. I can't think of anything that fulfils these criteria.
Is it normal for people to feel like this? Or does it only happen around birthdays?

Why do you think we keep women around?
Yes to the b-day question.
You need a hobby, have you thought of maybe making a 1:50,000 scale model of London?...with working lights? Or, how about going around to all the peeler bars and doing personal profiles of all the strippers for a Tourist book you're writing? You'll meet all kinds of new and interesting people...

I know how you feel matey. I've not long turned 28 myself (must be a funny year :)) but every hobby I take up just gets boring when I try to find a relevance for it rather than it being a distraction from life. Think I'm just searching for something different...

Forgot to mention, I also understand or have read somewhere recently - work in the NHS environment is very rewarding and sobering!

I'm trying to get a new career. Wouldn't touch patientline though. They were even in the newspaper for that flashing light thing.
I'd work for the NHS. I've been turned down by them before, though.
